Sports Day

The sun came out to help us to celebrate our World Cup themed sports day.

Children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were given a team from the World Cup to represent in a series of events.

The event finished with a tie between Colombia and England – if only our boys in Brazil had done as well!

The day was rounded off with running races to find the fastest boy and girl in each class.

Well done everyone who tried so hard.

Wild animals in school!

Rainforest expert Guy Tansley from Bugsnstuff came into school to show the children some weird and wonderful animals. These included, snakes, tarantulas, giant snails, frogs, stick insects and the world’s biggest moth. World Cup comes to Byker

Newcastle United Foundation came into school to help the children in KS2 prepare for the World Cup. Children were split into teams before choosing the country they wanted to represent in matches against each other. Lets hope England play as well as our pupils did over the next month!
