As part of Reception’s recent studies on Chinese New Year, Mrs McWeeny arranged for the class to take a trip to Chinatown in Newcastle.
The children had the chance to sketch the famous arch welcoming us to Chinatown and then had a walk down Stowell Street, having a good look at all of the pretty lanterns and dragons on display as they went.
After a wander around the Chinese supermarket, the children had their lunch at Mr Lau’s Restaurant and were treated to a wonderful feast for their lunch.
The children were a credit to the school throughout and behaved beautifully. Special thanks to our volunteer parents who came along to make the trip possible. We have further photos on Reception’s Gallery.
