Our school team were once again in action on Thursday 12 March at St Charles’ Primary School in Gosforth.
We played two matches against St Charles’ and St Mark’s with the following squad:
Jack Marr, Kudus Alemayehu, Christian Igbinosun, Charlie MacBeth, Reece Coulson, Josh Morton, Jack Walsh and Dylan Barclay.
In the first match we played St Mark’s and raced into an early lead through an individual goal from Dylan Barclay. After missing some chances to extend our lead we came under increasing pressure from the St Mark’s attack. Jack Marr had to be on top form in goal with some notable saves while Kudus Alemayehu and Christian Igbinosun made some crucial and timely tackles. Sadly though, the pressure told in the end and St Mark’s were able to score a late goal with the match finishing 1-1.
There was no time for a break and we were straight back on the field to play a well rested St Charles’ team. After a bright start, St Charles’ scored an excellent goal on the counter attack. We had two good chances to level the match before tiring in the second half. Some good finishing from the opposition meant that St Charles’ finished as 4-0 winners. However, our team never stopped trying and are certainly improving more than the scorelines suggest.
Unfortunately there were no photographs as Mr Brown forgot the camera!
