Year 6 University Visit

This week Year Six took part in an ‘ASC’ event at Northumbria University (Apprentice Students on Campus). The purpose of the visit was to show us that if we work hard we could go to university to study in the future.

This was an opportunity for us to spend a day on the university campus with real students. We were able to ask them questions about their courses and what they thought of university life. It all sounded very exciting!

We took part in team building activities in which we had to solve a crime together. We then had to build a bridge together. That was tricky! After that we took part in some exciting and very lively sports activities in their huge sports hall. We then had a tour of the campus and that gave us a real taste of what it is like to be a student.

When we got back to school lots of us talked about how going to university could be a real option for many of us.
