Science and Art workshops at Shipley Art Gallery.

Year 2 had a fabulous trip to the Shipley Art Gallery this week.

This was part of our work on Changing Materials in Science and our Art work on using different types of materials.

We looked at all of the fabulous fabric exhibits in the gallery and found out where lots of natural materials came from. We had a chance to handle lots of different materials.

After we had looked around the gallery we used wool to make felt. We made some fabulous pieces and it was very interested to see how the wool changed.

After lunch we looked at the ceramic collection in the gallery. We then made our own clay coil pots.

It was a wonderful day where we learnt such a lot about different types of materials and we loved making our felt and pots.
