Mr Thompson, a farmer from Northumberland, came to visit us in school on Tuesday 26th February as part of the Country Trust Project. He brought with him a friend, another farmer from Northumberland. They came to talk to us about contrasting locations; we compared how different the farm/countryside is to the city. Mr Thompson told us about how seeds and plants are made into the food we eat. In Science, we have been looking at the life cycle of plants. He brought in lots of different types of seeds for us to look at. We got a chance to feel each of them and even had a go a grinding wheat seeds to make flour. It was a really interesting session. We can’t wait for our trip to the farm now.
