Celebration Liturgy

The Nursery and Reception children joined together for a Liturgy to mark the end of their RE topic about Celebrations. We talked about the different types of celebrations the children have witnessed – like Birthdays and Christmas. We thought about what things are needed to have a celebration – like music, and party food, decorations and presents. Then we thought about how Mary and Joseph celebrated the birth of Jesus by taking him to the Temple to thank God for their baby boy. The children acted out the story of how an old lady and man called Anna and Simeon, were overjoyed to be able to see baby Jesus as they had waited many years to see the Son of God.

The Reception children made the most of the snowy weather today.
