Year 6 History Workshop

Year 6 were immersed in our World War 2 history topic when Richard (“That History Bloke”) came to visit.

Richard brought a number of primary sources from World War 2, which were based on the wartime experiences of a real North-Eastern family. We worked out the various jobs of the people that owned the artefacts and imagined what it would have been like to live in wartime.

We even got to see a real air raid siren in action!

Art Competition in partnership with Northumbria Police

Year 5 and 6 learn about real-life scientists.

Students from Newcastle University came in to talk about the role of scientists in our world. They explained to students in Year 5 and 6 that the title ‘scientist’ covers jobs from people building computers through chemists and biologist through to engineers.
