Our continuous commitment to raise the profile of safeguarding among our children was in evidence this week as we invited the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) into school to speak to our Year 5 and 6 children.
Each class had two workshops each and asked a series of intelligent questions with regard to what constitutes neglect and abuse. They spoke at length about what to do and who to inform if they are mistreated.
The course facilitators were very impressed by the knowledge and manners displayed by our children, who in turn learned a lot about where they can turn should they require child protection.
As the children told us very loudly and very clearly: ‘I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HAPPY AND SAFE!’
