Reception have started to learn about the changes in Spring. This week we have been investigating plants and flowers. The children made observations, still-life paintings and even started to label some of their pictures in their play!

The children loved listening to the story The Tiny Seed by Eric Carl and used dance to represent the journey of the seed and then planted wild flower seeds in the outdoor area. I wonder how big our flowers will grow?

Pea challenge

We discussed the things that plants need to grow, the children shared fantastic knowledge and were confident that the peas would need sun and water to grow they were then were given their own pea seeds to grow in plastic bags. We will be observing how the peas change and the best conditions for growing over the coming weeks.
