Autumn 2: Year 5 Music – Classroom Jazz

This term we have been learning about jazz music. We have learnt about typical characteristics in Jazz such as repetition, call and response and improvisation. Within some of the songs we have been learning, there has been some improvisation sections. We have particularly enjoyed Gershwin’s, ‘I’ve Got Rhythm’, listening to different versions of the song such as instrumental and with voice. Year 5 have been good at improvising and have produced some great ideas.
