KS2 Science Experiments

KS2 had a fantastic afternoon of amazing science experiments as part of National Science Week 2018.

Staff organised 12 workshops, looking at a whole host of topics including splitting light, air resistance, states of matter and forces.

Children spent 10 minutes at each activity, seeing first hand how science affects our daily life.

Science co-ordinator Mr Jeffrey said, “It is really important that children realise that science is everywhere and that it can be amazing and fun.

“We want to make sure that pupil’s at St Lawrence’s enjoy science and want to use their knowledge in the real world when they leave school to help them finding interesting jobs that they enjoy.

“The children loved the activities and asked some fantastic questions, showing very enquiring minds.”

Last week, Year 6 had a visit from some scientists at Newcastle University who told them all about the different careers available in Science.
