School Athletics Championships

Our school took part in the annual citywide Athletics championships at Monkton stadium on Tuesday 4 June 2019.

While we were unable to retain our shield from last year, there were some excellent and highly notable individual and team performances.

Billie Slasor (name given by permission) in particular ran a brilliant race to win the girls’ 800 metres and become city champion.

In a stunning race, Billie overtook 8 rivals in the last lap to take a remarkable victory. She then showed great humility and kindness to the girls she had beaten after the race.

Well done to Billie and all the team. We are very proud of you.
