Year 1 - Sorting objects in maths

In maths, Year 1 worked together to sort different objects into groups. We talked about how objects can be different colours and different sizes. The children had a go working in pairs to cut and sort different paper buttons. At first, they sorted them into 2 groups but as the leaning went on some children could see ways to sort the buttons into 3 and 4 groups. There were some fantastic discussions and teamwork skills.
