Year 4 – Monday 23 March

Good Morning!

Today’s suggested activities are as follows:

1.Get active

Why not start the day with some physical activity? Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, is offering a free live PE lesson each day this week at 9AM on his YouTube channel.

Or why not try some dancing with Go Noodle? https://family.gonoodle.com/

2. Handwriting (15 mins) and Times Tables (15 mins)

As per your timetable. Remember to take your handwriting at a steady pace. Calming music might help you.

If you want to use Times Tables Rockstars, remember that you may need to enter school’s postcode, which is NE6 2JX.

3. Maths (30 mins)

Miss Porter’s group are looking at their Number Bond Challenge 1. My maths group have addition with large numbers. Watch my YouTube video and try my method at home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KH3NDeo750

Once you’ve mastered this method, there’s no need to do the whole sheet of calculations – move on to the roman numerals page of the spring maths booklet, or try the reasoning problems I sent with this morning’s e-mail (I’ll send the answers tomorrow).

4. Reading (30 mins)

Miss Porter’s readers – Phonics phase 2 revision and Three Billie Goats Gruff Comprehension

My readers – Tour de France comprehension

5. Writing (30 mins)

Miss Porter’s Readers – Story Prediction

My Readers – Writing Task 1 (first draft).

6. Choosing Task or topic time (30-60 mins)

7. Why not make a rainbow picture?

All around the world, children have been drawing rainbows and putting them in their windows to show that the whole world is together. Why not make your own rainbow picture today and do the same?

Have a lovely day!

Mr Moore

Parents –  these are only suggested activities. Sometimes, it might be better for you to simply play with your child or let them follow their own interests for a while.
