Year 6 were given a very important talk about how to stay safe from fire.
Station Officer Hagon, who is in charge of Newcastle Central and West Denton Fire Stations, came into school to give the pupils advice on fire prevention.
He discussed how having a smoke alarm was one of the best ways to stay safe on how Byker Fire Station will put them in for free if people contact them on 0191 444 1500.
He also reminded them that electrical items should not be left charging overnight and doors must be closed at night in case there is a blaze.
Finally he emphasised that families should think about how they would escape in case there was a fire.
Year 6 really enjoyed the talk and promised to pass on all the information to their families so that they can remain safe at home.
