Geology Rocks in Year 3!

We had fun in science today looking at rocks. We looked at: charcoal, chalk, agate, quartz, lava and slate. We thought about their properties and which rock family they belong to. We had a feel of each rock and thought about if it was hard or soft, thinking about if we could snap the rock in half. The only rocks we could snap were chalk and charcoal. We then rated the rocks: 1 for the softest rock and 5 for the hardest rock.
