Laing Gallery Portrait Workshop in Year 2!

We had an exciting workshop today with Kevin from the Laing Art Gallery. We looked at the famous artist Pablo Picasso and interpreted some of his portraits. We thought about how do people draw portraits? We firstly learnt the rules of drawing a face before thinking about how we would break these rules to create an abstract piece of art. Kevin talked us through the mechanics of how to draw a face, we looked at eyes, nose and mouth. We then cut out our creations and put them together in an unconventional, Picasso-like way to create a new portrait.
