Poetry and Fireworks!

Year 2 have enjoyed working on a Literacy unit this week about poetry. We based a lot of our work around describing fireworks.

We have been learning all about the power of using adjectives to describe nouns in the genre of Poetry,

We wrote some fabulous poems about fireworks.

We also learnt all about Acrostic poetry and we wrote an acrostic poem using adjectives about Autumn. We enjoyed performing our poems with actions and sounds.

We concluded the week with a creative art session. We used oil pastels to create firework pictures.

We made our very own firework display with our pictures. Finally, because we are unable to go out to firework displays tonight, we turned off all of the lights and watched a fantastic firework display on the computer and we remembered all of the adjectives which we have used this week in our poetry sessions.
