<p>&nbsp; Reception class have enjoyed learning about the changes in winter. They used talk and art to share their understanding of the weather and types of clothes you need to stay warm. They were also introduced to the concept of hibernation and impressed us with their fantastic writing skills and ability to explain what hibernation [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Early Years enjoyed visiting Seven Stories to watch live theatre. The children loved the show Snow White and the Seven Stories! &nbsp;</p>

<p>What an exciting afternoon we had! We visited East End Library on Shields Road, linked to our work on ‘Luna Loves Library Day,’ by Joseph Coelho. <p>We had a fantastic visit to Seaton Delaval Hall today. On arrival, we met with Molly who was our tour guide for the day. She took us to a special room where we made three different Autumn crafts. Everyone worked really hard and had fun completing the activities. &nbsp; After all of our hard work, [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 1 have met up twice this half term to read with their Year 6 buddy. Year 1 shared their favourite stories with their buddies and listened to their buddy read to them. On both occasions, it has been an enjoyable and relaxing end to the day!</p>

<p>All of the children took part in an assembly today from Newcastle Children&#8217;s Libraries today about their Summer Reading Challenge and the events happening in libraries across the city. The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to be creative throughout the summer holidays – while keeping up their reading too, of course! Children will earn stickers [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We had a fabulous day celebrating books for World Book Day. Everyone read the book Barbara Throws a Wobbler, and learnt about the best way to manage our emotions. The children created excellent drawings and even cartoons around the themes of the book. We celebrated our Story in our Box competition entries. All of the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Some of our Year 5 and Year 6 children were lucky enough to visit Seven Stories for World Book Day. They learned all about writing funny stories and writing one word poems. The workshop was led by Burhana Islam and Joseph Coelho, the Children&#8217;s Laureate. All of the pupils were excellent ambassadors for the St [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week in Year 1, we have been inspired by our story about the three little pigs to decorate biscuits. We began by discussing instructions on how to decorate a biscuit. To do this we used the sequencing words: first, next, then and finally. We then followed our instructions to decorate the biscuits. Following this [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have been reading, &#8216;The True Story of the Three Little Pigs&#8217; so in Science we decided to test materials that would be suitable for the three little pigs as they made their houses. We talked about the properties of different materials and decided that the jackets would need to be flexible, durable and waterproof. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Last week, Year 3 and Year 6 teamed up for a new reading buddy system. Twice a week, the Year 6&#8217;s will be helping the Year 3&#8217;s with their reading. They are getting lots of practise at blending unfamiliar words, retelling their story and practising high frequency words. So far, Year 3 have really enjoyed [&hellip;]</p>

<p>KS1 have spent this half term learning and rehearsing the Christmas play, ‘The Little Red Robin.’ Every child had a role, either with lines to learn, a dance to perform and songs to sing. Some children played percussion instruments as part of the performance too. Children took part in all aspects of rehearsing and learned [&hellip;]</p>

These objects included a teddy bear, blanket, biscuits and doll. There were some clues [&hellip;]</p>
