Year 6 had a brilliant morning learning how to stay safe in a variety of different real-life scenarios.
Safetyworks, run by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, gave children the opportunity to practice skills such as road safety, how to use the metro and how dangerous bin fires can be in the community.
In addition, they were reminded about how to be safe on the internet and how to take care around water.
The children loved the chance to act out each scene, including what happens if someone is arrested, and found the experience invaluable.
