Science Experiment in Year 2

As part of our work on changing materials Year 2 carried out an experiment today to see how different food materials react to heat.

We observed six different food materials, we passed them around to investigate what they look like and feel like when they are cool.

We then heated each of the materials in turn and observed the changes.

We recorded our findings as we went along.

We left the food to cool and then we looked at them again. We were really interested to see that some food had stayed the same but that some had returned to their first state eg chocolate.

We also learnt new vocabulary like; condensation, steam, liquid, solid and experiment. We learnt a lot and we had fun.
