Today Year 1 had some visitors to the classroom…
We met some invertebrates (creatures with no backbone) and some vertebrates (creatures with a backbone). We got to handle and look at a Giant Snail, a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach, a millipede, a tarantula, a cobra and a rat! We all enjoyed looking, touching and learning about the animals. Did you know that a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach can live without a head for a month or that a millipede actually only has 200 legs?!
