Year 1 -RE

Since returning to school, Year 1 have been looking at their RE topic of Families. The children have shared how love and care is shown by families and how God loves and cares for all of us. We have learned about God's love and care in the Bible and shared a number of psalms that show us how God shares his love with us. We also learned that Jesus grew up in a family who loved and cared for him. On Tuesday, we planned and shared our class liturgy celebrating all we had learned in our topic. The children decided how we should gather and what we should offer. We listened to the Word through a psalm the children chose and read. We also shared the prayer we had written as a class to say thank you to God for his love and care. The children responded with a beautiful liturgical dance about the Holy Family and we gave ourselves the mission of sharing God's love with our families at home and the children talked about ways that they could show that. It was a beautiful end to our Families topic.
