Year 2 visit to The Shipley Art Gallery

Year 2 visited The Shipley Art Gallery yesterday as part of our Art activities and our work about materials  in Science.

We really enjoyed looking at their unusual collections and comparing them with the Laing Art Gallery. We looked at the items made from ceramics and fabrics. We drew some of the artefacts

We made clay pots, observing how we can change clay material by manipulating it.

We also looked at natural materials like silk, wool and cotton and things which can be made from these.

In the afternoon we made felt from wool and again we observed how this natural material can be changed.
