Year 5 and 6 learn about real-life scientists.

Students from Newcastle University came in to talk about the role of scientists in our world.

They explained to students in Year 5 and 6 that the title ‘scientist’ covers jobs from people building computers through chemists and biologist through to engineers.

Pupils completed experiments based around their 5 senses – predicting, observing and coming up with conclusions as they went.

The lessons were designed to show that people from all backgrounds can become scientists and that there are thousands of careers out there for people.
