So much excitement in Year 5 yesterday afternoon when 2 professional basketball players came in to teach us about taking care of our bodies and how to use exercise as a tool to enhance our physical and mental health. We practiced basketball techniques, asked brilliant questions, got some autographs and reduced tickets for the next game at the Vertu Arena!

Year 1 had a special visit from the author Kate Rolfe. She told the children her journey of becoming an author and said that it all began with her love for drawing and then she could add words that match with the pictures. Kate is dyslexic so it was lovely to hear about her story, her experience writing a story and how words appear on a page for her. We were excited to travel by minibus to the farm. Once inside, we enjoyed exploring all the different animals including pigs, goats, sheep, hens, ducks, rabbits, snakes, guinea pigs and many, many more! We all completed an animal treasure hunt and counted how many of each animal we could see. We listened carefully to the noises the animals make and identified which sounds belonged to which animals.
