Reception children had a magical afternoon exploring autumn during a special experience at The Lighthouse Project.  We began by collecting leaves of all shapes, sizes, and colours—from fiery reds to golden yellows and crunchy browns. The children were fascinated by the variety and loved comparing their finds with friends. It was a brilliant opportunity to talk about seasonal changes and observe the signs of autumn all around us. Year 3 have enjoyed reading their new class book ‘The Pebble in my Pocket’. They began by going into the playground to find their own pebble. They then wrote a description of it including some exciting adjectives. Next, they read the description of a volcanic eruption from the book and developed their comprehension skills by answering vocabulary, retrieval and summarising questions.
