Lent

Reception have been learning about Lent and how it is a time that we can grow just like the flowers and plants.  The children’s ideas included growing to be more kind, helpful or caring.

The children thought of their own Lenten promises which they wrote on leaves. The leaves were used to create a Lenten promise tree to remind us of our promises in this special time of Lent.

The children also enjoyed creating a collective art work about how people can grow during Lent. Large paper was used to create a cross that the children then has lots of fun adding their ideas whilst listening to music. The children drew flowers, trees, rainbows and wrote words such as kind and help.
