Graduation Day!

Year 6 had a fantastic ‘Graduation Day’ to round off a wonderful week working with IntoUniversity.

The children had a tour around Northumbria University’s futuristic City Centre campus before putting on their mortar boards and gowns.

Dozens of families were there to celebrate with them and listen to their presentations about famous engineers: Brunel who designed the Clifton Suspension Bridge; Eva Lovelace whose calculations helped inspire the 1st computers; Mae Jemison the 1st African American woman in space and American Yuan-Cheng Fung, the founder of biomechanics.

The children had a life-enhancing week and gained bucket loads of confidence and new skills.  Well done year 6!
