Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic Japanese day as part of their topic looking at the Michael Morpurgo book ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’.
John, from the Oriental Museum in Durham, helped arrange a variety of activities such as origami and Japanese calligraphy.
He also allowed the children to handle different Japanese objects including kimonos, ceremonial displays and domestic items.
The children had a great time and many were desperate to visit the country when they got older.
