Nursery have enjoyed their first half term at school!

We have enjoyed a busy few weeks in Nursery!  The children have learnt lots of new skills and taken part in a range of activities linked to our ‘All about me’ and ‘Autumn’ topics.

We have read many stories but a particular favourite was ‘Leaf Man’ by Lois Ehlert.   The children were introduced to printing and collage and they produced some lovely art work, inspired by the book, using the leaves that we collected from our visit to Jesmond Dene.

We looked closely at the leaves with the magnifying glasses and used our fine motor skills to sort the conkers from the acorns on the Autumn table.

We worked together outside sharing and taking turns whilst developing our gross motor skills by sweeping and transporting the leaves…

We have enjoyed learning new songs and number rhymes including ‘5 little leaves’ which involved counting and recognising numbers to 5.  Well done everyone and happy half term!
