Remembrance activities in Year 6

Year 6 had the opportunity to attend a beautiful Service of Remembrance at St Lawrence’s Church today, along with children from Byker Primary, veterans of the armed forces and the charity Launchpad, which works with ex-service people. We also spent time contributing painted poppies for a local Remembrance Day service. Our week of remembrance activities, and our recent Humanities topic on World War II have helped to bring the challenges faced by our local veterans to life.
