Y4 Shipbuilding at the Discovery Museum

Y4 enjoyed a fantastic Shipbuilding workshop as part of our Changing Jobs module in Humanities. We learned about some of the jobs that were common on the River Tyne 100 years ago, and tried our hands at being loftsmen, riveters and ship designers. We also learned a little bit about how ships’ engines use the science behind different states of matter, which is our next science unit.
