Year 2 – Portraits

Year 2 have been learning all about portraits this term in art as part of our work around Ourselves.

We enjoyed drawing self portraits in class and portraits of one of our favourite characters; Mr Bear.

We visited The Portrait Gallery at the Laing Art Gallery and looked at portraits painted by famous artisits.

We made a huge collage in groups about the story; Jack in The Beanstalk;

We played a fun game called The emotion game where we were given a word to act out like a portrait in a frame.

We looked closely at a painting called Isabella and The Pot of Basil and learnt about the gruesome story!
