Year 6 Music: Autumn 1

Year 6 have been learning the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams. The class liked this song from the start of term and are very enthusiastic when performing this together. Alongside this song, we have also been learning about other songs that make us happy or have happiness as their theme. For example, ‘Top of the World’ by The Carpenters, ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ by Bobby Mcferrin, and ‘Walking On Sunshine’ by Katrina And The Waves. We have been looking at how these songs all have the same feeling and theme but all different styles of the pop genre. Year 6 have been making their own opinions about these songs and give musical reasons why they like or dislike a piece of music. Whilst learning this song we have been able to split into two groups to sing it as well as playing different parts on the glockenspiel.
