Year 6 started a week-long project about WWII as part of a scheme to encourage youngsters in the area to think about attending university when they are older. The Into University organisation runs homework clubs and works closely with schools across the country showing pupils what they can gain from getting a degree.Year 6 looked at lots of different parts of the war, including rationing, the use of propaganda, Morse Code and the major events that took place. It was a very hands-on day and the children came away having worked collaboratively – like university students – gaining lots of knowledge and confidence.
