Investigating Soil in Year 3

This week Year 3 began their new Science topic ‘Rocks and Soils’. The children found out about the components of soil and labelled a pie chart. They then considered which component was the most important: mineral matter, water, air or organic matter.

Later, they went outside to play ‘Soil I-Spy’. In pairs they looked for worms, rocks and decomposing leaves.
