Armistice Day honours the end of World War One and always falls on the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour. This year marked 100 years since the first two-minute silence was observed on in 1919.
We held a short service to remember the people who bravely fought in this war. We read poems and prayers. Miss McDonnell played the last post on her trumpet to mark the start of a 2 minute silence. Everyone showed great respect – from Reception children to Year 6.
When you go home,
tell them of us and say,
for their tomorrow we gave our today.’
