Testing the properties of materials!

Today in Year 5, we began our new topic, Properties and Changes of Materials.! We learned that any substance that can be used to make something is a material and materials can be split into two categories: natural and man-made materials.

In this lesson, we focused on the properties of materials.  Each material has its own set of properties, which make them useful for a range of different purposes.  We tested different materials to find their properties.  Our tests included: magnetism, hardness, transparency, flexibility and permeability.
