The Big Spell in Key Stage 1.

Years 1 and 2 have enjoyed taking part in The Big Spell during January.

Each child has been learning a list of High Frequency words from the phonic phase at which they are currently working. We have planned lots of activities at school in each of our daily phonic sessions to help the children to learn their spellings and the children took their spellings home to learn.

Last Friday we all had a spelling test in our phonic groups. The children had all made remarkable progress at their own level. Every child was rewarded with a special pencil for their effort.

Special prizes were awarded to the winner in each phonics phase and another prize was given to the person who had made the most progress.

Well done boys and girls!
