Year 1 - visit from author Kate Rolfe

Year 1 had a special visit from the author Kate Rolfe. She told the children her journey of becoming an author and said that it all began with her love for drawing and then she could add words that match with the pictures. Kate is dyslexic so it was lovely to hear about her story, her experience writing a story and how words appear on a page for her. She read her story: Wiggling Words and the children loved seeing her ideas come to life in the book. The children were fascinated with the drawings in her book as Kate used different capital letters to draw many things such as animals and objects. The children had a go at drawing their own animals using capital letters.
