Whizz, Crash and Bang in Year 3!

Today we looked at comic strips to learn about how onomatopoeia can be used to bring a piece of writing to life. We then acted out our own scenarios using onomatopoeia speech and effects bubbles – like we were living in our own cartoon or comic strip! Onomatopoeia are words that are also sounds eg. whizz, bing, ring and woof! We watched videos of firework displays to inspire our writing. We will use onomatopoeia on Friday during our Big Writing about Bonfire Night.
