World Mental Health Day Friday 9th October

Prioritising mental health has never been more important than it is now and to celebrate World Mental Health Day we all came together as a school to support the charity ‘Young Minds’ by wearing something yellow to school for ‘Hello Yellow’ on Friday.  We wanted to encourage the children to think about happy thoughts and feeling positive about the future.

From our very youngest Nursery children right up to year 6, we discussed the importance of having a positive mindset and thinking ‘happy thoughts’.  The children made a fantastic effort to find something yellow to wear to school and they each made a yellow sunshine with a picture of themselves inside, to show that they are all amazing just like the sun!  We talked about all of the things that make us feel happy, for example; sounds, smells, people, activities, memories and we displayed our thoughts on the rays around the outside of our sunshine.
