World War II visitor for Y6

Year 6 had a fantastic morning looking at WWII thanks to ‘The History Bloke’.

The children had the opportunity to handle lots of original artefacts from the period and work out what some of the more mysterious items would have been used for.

Richard also gave them the chance to discuss what life would have been like in Britain during WWII for different sections of society such as evacuees and Fire Wardens.

Finally they learnt to identify different types of WWII planes from their silhouettes – which is exactly the skills taught in schools at the time.
