Year 1 Visits the Shipley Art Gallery

Year 1 had an amazing visit to the Shipley Art Gallery in Gateshead.

This term in art we have been exploring sculpture. We spent the morning at the gallery investigating the sculpture, ‘The Angel of the North’ by the artist, Antony Gormley. We then went on to create our own maquette (small model) using different materials.

During the afternoon session, we got creative and made mosaic tiles using clay. Here are some of our lovely designs!
