Reception's Material Hunt

This week, our Reception children have been busy exploring the world of materials! From wood to metal, fabric to bricks, we’ve been learning all about the different materials that make up the world around us.

To kick off our learning, the children went on a material hunt around school. They spotted wooden tables, metal gates, plastic pots fabric cushions, and even brick walls!

Back in the classroom, we had lots of fun sorting materials into groups. In our art area, the children used a variety of materials to make their own collage pictures. They carefully chose different textures and colours to create beautiful, unique artwork.
