<p>Today Year 2 enjoyed taking part in a ZOOM with our penpals from Belsay school. We are taking part in The Linking Project which links schools from different geographical environments. Both schools read the book; Incredible You; We thought about the things which make us unique. We recorded these on a book work. We also [&hellip;]</p>

<p>As part of our new topic in Humanities, &#8216;Changing Jobs,&#8217; Year 4 were able to interview hospital paediatrician Dr Roberts today. She told us all about why she had become a doctor, told us about what she enjoys in her job and even gave us some tips about how we can become doctors ourselves (work [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have been using a new piece of technology in school this week &#8211; Now Press Play!Using a set of unique headphones and a iPad with a transmitter, the whole class are able to listen to, act out and take part in an &#8216;experience.&#8217; Year 3 ventured back in time to the Stone Age. <p>Reception enjoyed learning about autumnal changes on their first school trip to Jesmond Dene. The weather was definitely true to the season but everyone had fun! The children collected objects such as leaves, conkers and twigs and brought them back to school to  create some fabulous art work! Well done Reception! Mrs Bickle and Mrs [&hellip;]</p>

We explored the area for signs of Autumn and collected leaves of different colour, shape and size.  The children were excited to have snack in the woods before visiting the animals in Pets Corner.  Even the bus journey was a highlight!  A wonderful morning [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Reception have been learning about seasonal changes this week. They have really enjoyed the story Pumpkin Soup and even made some of their own whilst investigating pumpkins! The story also explores the importance of sharing and taking turns which are both class promises! Well done Reception! Mrs Bickle and Mrs Heide</p>

<p>Today we practised our right to vote by voting for our School Council Reps. We discussed what it means to live in a democratic society.Congratulations to our winners: Harley and Amelia!</p>

<p>Year 2 had an exciting visit to Broxfield Farm in Northumberland as part of our work on contrasting localities in Geography. Mr Thompson; The Farmer told us all about his farm. <p>In class we discussed how things changed in Germany once Hitler was elected Chancellor in 1933. Germans were furious because land and money was taken off them by the Allies after losing World War 1.  On top of this the ‘Great Depression’ saw millions of Germans left with no job so people were angry and [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we enjoyed working in small groups to produce a presentation all about a piece of natural geography in London, the River Thames. We thought about how the river began at a source near the Cotswolds and ended in the North Sea. We also learnt about the famous bridges it passes under, such as London [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 have enjoyed having pen pals from Belsay school throughout this school year through The Linking Project. sadly we have not been able to meet up with our pen pals this year but we have kept in touch throughout the year by writing letters, exchanging postcards, sending pictures and even writing acrostic poems about [&hellip;]</p>
