Newcastle Eagles visit Year 5
So much excitement in Year 5 yesterday afternoon when 2 professional basketball players came in to teach us about taking care of our bodies and how to use exercise as a tool to enhance our physical and mental health. We practiced basketball techniques, asked brilliant questions, got some autographs and reduced tickets for the next game at the Vertu Arena!

Children in Need
Our School Council organised a day of fun to celebrate Children in Need. The children were invited to come into school dressed in their own clothes, Pudsey clothes, spots or pyjamas for a small donation. Lots of fun was had by all in raising money for this very important charity.

Anti-Bullying Week 2025 - Odd Socks Day
To celebrate Anti-Bullying Week in school, the School Council got together to make posters advertising 'Odd Socks Day'. This is an event that we take part in every year. The children all wore odd socks to remind us that we are all unique and should celebrate our differences.

Remembrance Day 2025
St Lawrence's took part in a Remembrance Day assembly this morning. All pupils were given a paper poppy which was purchased by school. All pupils also had the opportunity to buy items from the Poppy Appeal, including pencils, bag chains and snap bands. In their French lesson this week, Year 6 learned how France celebrates Remembrance Day, and that they use a mix of poppies and cornflowers. Our wreath reflects the two colours.
