<p>The Early Years Nativity was a huge success, well done everyone!</p>

<p>Early Years enjoyed visiting Seven Stories to watch live theatre. The children loved the show Snow White and the Seven Stories! &nbsp;</p>

<p>We were visited by Rachel from the Dog&#8217;s Trust. Following a whole school assembly with Rachel, she then came to our classes to talk about safety around dogs. She gave us five dog rules: 1 If a dog is sleeping, leave them alone. 2. If a dog is eating, leave them alone. 3. Try to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Over the last few weeks, the Nursery children have thoroughly enjoyed looking after our caterpillars and watching them transform into butterflies! . They have observed the changes and learned all about the life cycle from an egg to a butterfly. We have read lots of non fiction and fiction books to help us, including &#8216;The [&hellip;]</p>

<p>As a school we were delighted to take part in the first Bishop Bewick Art Exhibition. The event is to help celebrate our key values of being stronger together and greater than the sum of our parts. Each class took part and spent a day working together to produce some fabulous pieces of work for [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The Nursery children had a great time celebrating our new King and Queen. They enjoyed learning about our Royal Family and taking part in lots of &#8216;royal&#8217; activities, including pretending to be the King! They made their own crowns and we had a picnic and played party games. &#8216;God save the King!&#8217;</p>

<p>This week our Nursery children celebrated the 25th anniversary of World Book Day with a variety of events in school to promote reading. The children were invited to come into school dressed either in clothes they like to wear while reading or as their favourite book character. <p>Our wonderful Open The Book team returned to school this week to act out the Christmas story. They dressed up and involved lots of boys and girls to retell the Nativity Story. It was an essential part of our Advent preparations for Christmas. Thank you and a very Merry Christmas to our Open The Book [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The children enjoyed making poppies to celebrate Remembrance Day. Every class used a different medium and technique to create their poppies, which were all brought together to make a whole school art display in the school entrance.  Well done everybody, what a super effort!</p>

<p>This term the Nursery children took part in their first educational visit and were very well behaved! We went to Jesmond Dene to look for signs of Autumn. We collected leaves and visited the animals in Pet&#8217;s Corner before sitting down for a drink and snack!  On our return, we listened to the story &#8216;Leaf [&hellip;]</p>

The Day was well attended by parents and Grandparents who cheered on their children on such a beautiful sunny day. <p>&nbsp; EYFS and Key Stage 1 took part in The Annual Lenten CAFOD Appeal; Walk Against Hunger. We walked 1/2 a mile together remembering those in the world who do not have enough to eat daily. The money which we have collected will be sent to CAFOD. We thought about what it was like to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Last week it was lovely to be able to welcome our parents back into Nursery for our first Stay and Play session since Covid began!  We decided to also make it a celebration for Mother&#8217;s Day.
