<p>Year 3 have been producing some superb work this week from home! We have been looking at telling the time in maths, different word families in literacy, practising our 2s, 5s, 10s, 3s and 4s times tables and produced some imaginative writing about snowy and icy weather.Well done, Year 3! <p>Year 2 have continued to work really hard during their time at home and they have been sending in some lovely photographs. This week we have been reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson. All of our Literacy work this week has been linked to this text and the children [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 6 had a PE lesson with a difference today &#8211; using our map-making skills. Pupils divided into groups of 3 and set out about drawing what they could see on a map, after Mr Stephenson laid out some unusual objects. <p>Year 5 were lucky enough to take part in the Festival of Maths 2020 at the Centre for Life. The day began with making balloon animals.  It wasn&#8217;t the easiest task (they kept popping!) but we were so pleased with the final result.  Once we had our balloon animals, we had to change the proportions [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we did a fractions carousel in Year 3. We were thinking about how fractions can equally split a shape or an amount. We used pool noodles, pizza fractions, cake fractions and fraction cubes and even shared sweets among some minions! We thought about different ways of showing equivalent fractions.</p>

<p>One afternoon, a mysterious envelope arrived for Year 4. Inside, we found a message from Mr Brown. We began by estimating how far we thought it was to the baths &#8211; some of our estimates were in units of time, others were in units of distance. We ranged from 1 minute to 10 minutes, and 10 [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 invited their parents into class today to take part in a workshop about multiples. We counted out a hundred of a variety of items and then counted the items into multiples of; ten, five and two. We used what we learnt to solve a number of problems.</p>

<p>Year 1 and Year 2 have taken part in an exciting Maths Challenge during this half term. We have all been working on improving our scores on Hit The Button. We worked on number bonds and on times tables. Every child improved their scores during the 6 week period. Some children were awarded prizes for [&hellip;]</p>
